TV Game: DEPAUL vs. MU, Feb. 6, 1982

Another game to watch to get you ready for Friday. It is almost a full broadcast of DEPAUL vs. the 'Quette at MECCA from February 6, 1982.  MU lost this game by 1 point to a DEPAUL team ranked No. 2.

I know a copy of this game has been floating around for awhile after it mysteriously showed up out of no where on a private Roku sports network, so some may have seen it.

What makes this game interesting is the outstanding backcourt Marquette had in Michael Wilson and Doc Rivers. F/CBrian Nyhaus played the game of life as an injured Dean Marquardt sat on the bench. DEPAUL was loaded with future Bucks star Terry Cummings and Kenny Patternson.

In addition, the "organic" pageantry and beautiful color of a college game at the MECCA is on Full display in this game. I take nothing away from today's college basketball. However, the beauty of having limited technology and more natural elements is on full display in this game. The MECCA was an incredible building.

That opening with Al is amazing.  I had no idea he was "away" for 5 years.  Him referring to himself as a semi-legend is amazing.
