Funny story about that. A co worker, who was from the Pennsylvania area said he loved that Marquette team and Whitehead.
Strange since he was Philly born and raised. Turns out in college his wife dated Conrbread Maxwell.  ;D

Yeah, but Whiteheads basket counted.

Yeah, but Whiteheads basket counted.

True, but Al was quoted in Miracles on Hardwood as saying he argued that the shot was in time (he knew it was) to distract the refs from seeing what he saw-that Whitehead was guilty of goal tending- when they reviewed the tape. We got away with one!

It still counted.

The flashbacks I'm having are to playing Evansville on a Friday night in Dayton in the MCC tourney.

Now we're tipping off against UConn in the Garden?

Life is good.

#15's throw to #54 was comin' right at me. Felt like I could reach out and grab it. Clean play...no offensive goal tend, game clock violation, or offensive foul. On ta Championship Monday...all good, aina?

Jerome Whitehead went to the same high school I did.  Back then we didn't know how talented of a basketball player we were watching.

On the OMax almost game-winner, you got to appreciate him busting his ass to get to that spot. He was the inbounder on the play and he booked it immediately after passing it in to Kolek.

I know OMax gets some crap here on Scoop. He doesn't have good contact balance and he's never going to be a smooth looking player. But, damn, he plays hard.

He gives 100% every time. Part of the reason I think Jop has gained on defense--seeing O max set the standard
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Yeup, sure do.

What a lovely, sunny March afternoon in Milwaukee.

Looking for more days like that one in the weeks and months ahead.

Great points.
