I've been bullish on this bubble, but this weekend damn near broke me. Teams I thought deserved inclusion lost games they needed. Teams I didn't want to consider because of ugly resumes have pushed their way back into the conversation. Today we take another look at the bubble, zeroing in on Kentucky, North Carolina, USC, Clemson, and Wisconsin, which were the five teams competing for the last spot in the field.

Also, as a note, the Top-16 reveal will be on Saturday, February 18. That Xavier game looms large as one where Marquette could solidify their place in that group, and possibly even find themselves on the 3-seed line come Saturday with a win.

How is X still a borderline 3?  Net and who they are losing too would seem to cause them to be dropping, right?

11-4 in Q1+2 is much better than the teams they are competing with. The predictive metrics aren't great, but that top of the resume looks like it belongs on the 2-line. They were seeded in a group with K-State, Gonzaga, and Marquette. those 4 are very close and I wouldn't argue with any other order, but the top tier results favor K-State and X.
