It's so funny.  The word "thug" is tossed around so often.  I heard an ND alum referring to MU's team as "a bunch of thugs".  That couldn't be further from the truth...just perception.

I try to restrict my use of it to where it is deserved.  I like "Hugg's thugs" to describe the old Cinci teams.  I think Grave's actions were that of a thug.  I have no idea why we would be called thugs.  ND might think of our guards as thieves since we turn them over so much.

Speaking of thugs, does anybody remember Kevin Menard getting closelined at the end of a blowout at the BC several years ago?
