-2.5 in some places. Looks like the sharp money is coming in on Georgetown.

The spot definitely favors Georgetown. Coming off a long absence and Marquette coming off a huge win.

From a basketball perspective, I like the matchup for MU. Georgetown shoots 3s well but isn't great at anything else. They struggle with 2P% and MU is good at defending 2P%. They turn the ball over a lot and don't force a ton of turnovers. They run pick and roll frequently, which MU has defended well this year.

Lean MU but staying away from this one.

I'm going heavy on MU -2.5.  Think the mojo is really good and that this team/coach are figuring it out. Further MU has played a brutal schedule as it relates to quality of opposition D. I think we win by 10-15. #bullish.

This may not age well too. Wager at your own risk.

Should be an interesting game.  I've never imagined Georgetown as an up-tempo 3pt shooting team, but that's exactly what they are this year.  Only play a little slower than MU, and shoot the 3 better.

However, they play the patented matador defense that MU fans are all to familiar with.  MU *should* win this one.

I watched their games against SDSU and TCu. They really struggle defending the pick and roll (amongst other things on that side of the ball).

Barring them getting white hot from behind the arc, MU will roll tonight.

Is the great 3-point shooting by Georgetown real? Maybe it'll wind up being good, but I don't think it's sustainable for them. Carey and Rice are 69/156 for 44.2% while the rest of the team is 27/89 for 30.3%.

Carey (26/55 47.3%) is a lower-volume guy of the two. Career 40.2% guy (including two years at mid-majors where he was around 37%, and last year at 44.9% with the Hoyas). 47.3% will likely come down a bit, but he can shoot.

Where the volume is, is with Rice. 43/101 for 42.6%. In their only two games against tier a or b teams, he's just 2/15 for 13.3% and is a career 34.4% guy, almost all with The Citadel. Nailing 10/12 from deep against UMBC is fun, but this is a guy who is almost exclusively a 3-point shooter. Rarely takes two's and never gets to the line. Stay on him and don't give him looks – we'll be fine.

Georgetown is not good. Very winnable game for us. Let's crush them. I don't believe their 3fg% is real. I do want to see Mutombo though.

Why?  Better return if you bet the spread if you think Marquette is going to cover.

If he's heavy on a -2.5 cover. Why the heck would he go ML?

I seldom, seldom place wagers these days due to learning my lesson years ago and this sounds like a winner to me. Hopefully my love affair with Shaka does not get damaged tonight.

I stopped betting on MU years and years ago, and that was when we were consistently good. I get stressed enough watching a close game. I didn't need to have money on it, too.

But as you and I both predicted, this was a fairly easy one. Congrats for putting your money down and cashing in!

Providence -3.5 at home against SJU looks tasty.
