Mark Emmert is such a doofus

This is the second Mark Emmert thread and I was thinking this both times.  Also thinking why is he still NCAA President and he's one reason why things are the way they are.  But that's probably why they want him President.

Emmert is essentially a poster boy of why colleges are not what they used to be.

He is essentially a career politician, moving into administrative roles right away. Previously, administrators would become full professors working in academia and understanding its mission before leading.

He got a PhD in essentially administration, and then within 2 years moved to high administrative positions, where his sole goal was to pad his resume and sweep major corruption/scandals under the rug so he could move on to the next higher position.

Has no interest in the academic mission of a University, only what is best for Mark Emmert.

Sometimes that works.  Sometimes it doesn't.  I have worked directly with people from both backgrounds and IMO their ability to do the job had little to do with how their career developed.

He isn't wrong.  But nothing he has done indicates he is part of the solution.
