Why not play both at the same venue: Men Saturday/Monday Women Sunday/Tuesday. Perhaps the women play Friday, the men play Saturday and on Monday the women play the early game and the men the late game for their respective championships. It would give the women the same exposure as the men.

Because the women's wouldn't bring in nearly the same crowd.

the men's tourney would overshadow the women's tourney if it were in the same city at the same time. Holding it in separate locations puts a greater spotlight on the women's final four and it's a focal point for the city during that week. They also have a different fan base.

Finally, capacity of the city. Would hotels in these cities be able to accommodate an additional 20,000 fans? It's already hard enough to get rooms for the Men's Final Four with 60,000+ coming in for those games.

I echo that it would further detract from the women's tourney. Currently, the women's tourney is the biggest event in town wherever it is. Adding it to the men's event will make them second fiddle at best. It's a poor idea

Doesn't the NCAA do a lot of marketing for open practices on the off days?

A few years ago they did all the D 1 D 2 and D 3 final fours in the same city iirc and I thought that was cool. Give the smaller guys some publicity and feel like big shots for a second. But adding the womens I feel would inevitably be a detriment.
