GREAT interview by Scholl. Didn't sugarcoat it but also wasn't unnecessarily cruel.

One question - the MU Wire Reporter (🙄🙄🙄) asked if diversity will be a priority in the HC search. Scholl says "unequivocally yes". I don't care what walk of life our coach comes from but the ONLY priorities should be winning (in the regular and post season) and following NCAA rules while doing it.

whats this really mean? we will prioritize getting a non white coach but if all options are exhausted we will settle. its got a weird feel to it.

What it means is that they will consider all candidates. Which they should.

that should be a given. skin color should be as relevant as ice cream prefrence. theres only one head coach and you say make "diversity a prioroty" kinda seems like focus on non white candiates first? what else does priorty mean? what u think that repirter will say if the next coach is white lol?

Could also mean they'll reach out to Becky Hammon.

You're reading too much into it.  Diversity should always be a priority.  If you only look at White coaches from the Midwest, you'd be doing yourself a disservice.

As for what the report would say if the next coach is a White guy from the Midwest, "Did you explore a diverse range of coaches?" and then you wait for the answer.
