Dan Fitzgerald's endless injuries.   I blame no one for the injuries.   I just keep remembering the flashes (admittedly rarely long stretches of consistency) that he showed that changed games.   There have been none of those this year.   He is slow, tentative, lacking confidence.   Last year, it occasionally worked for him.   This year, nothing is.    If he was producing at a level commensurate with being one year more experienced and stayed healthy, we probably beat Duke.    The rest of the L's have been beatdowns, so it is unlikely he changes any of them.    But a healthy, confident Fitz would have made some of the losses closer and some of the ugly wins better.

Aside from the wrist injury early in the season what other injuries has he had?

I would not say he's a waste of a scholly, but if he isn't hitting 3's he should not be on the floor. Hes too slow on defense and gets a lot of fouls because of it. He is not a good rebounder for his size, and is almost always out of position.

I could not believe he got the start at the 5 a few games ago. For someone who hasn't taken more than 10 2 pt shots this season he shouldn't be under the basket.

His 3 pt numbers in BEAST play:
1/4
0/0
4/9
0/1
0/1
3/6
0/4
0/3
0/0
------
8/28 (28.5%)

Maybe his injuries have made him less confident, but if we are going to make a run at the end of the season he needs to start making the shots he takes.

That being said, if he makes 2 or 3 a game, IMO, that would be enough to make some coaches think about playing that zone that seems to stifle our offense.
"I don't give a damn if he can't do nothing else. He can shoot, and I love the way he shoots. I don't care if he can't dribble, can't rebound, can't play defense... that kid can shoot the ball." - Tracy McGrady on Steve Novak

Fitz=Wasted Scholly!!!

You are a short, bitter, little man.

No need to blast a college kid on a web forum.
