I can't remember a year when so many people discussed the idea of whether the smart money in March was to take one of a top handful of teams or the field. The improbability of the NCAA Tournament is why we love it, but I decided to dig in and see just how improbable it would be for teams outside Gonzaga and Baylor to win the title based on historic kenpom numbers. We dig into that data, as well as the latest S-Curve, today on Cracked Sidewalks:

Afternoon bump. I'll be honest, the idea that Kenpom #4 Iowa, #5 Houston, or #6 Illinois winning the title would be bigger statistical outliers than then #15 UConn or #20 Syracuse is crazy.
