I apologize in advance because we really don't need another Wojo thread.

As they say, new year new me aina?

As we all sit here patiently awaiting MU to "turn the corner" under coach Steve, it seems to me like there's no better time than 2021.

The roller coaster has led to some exciting times on the court, followed by many angering times on the court. Off of it, I'm sure most would argue it's a success. Sure he's boring, but the character of guys and cleanliness of the program, as well as the recruiting prowess have all been acceptable if not pleasant.

At the end of the day the results haven't been there and the compounding non elite BE finishes as well as 0 postseason wins means that this season is probably his most important professionally.

The talent is evident, he had a nice layoff to coach up his guys, the schedule gets easier. The ingredients are there for a much needed change to the better, or a fall flat on the face.

Here's to hoping Steve figures it out in 2021 and beyond

Yeah, its not like he has had enough time to "figure" it out. After all 6 1/2 years is surely not long enough.

Well that doesn't really answer anything

I'd rather spin this topic a different way. Basketball aside, 2020 was absolutely brutal. 2021 is sure to be full of the same. I've realized how little sports truly impacts me and my daily life. It's all extra. I'm going to enjoy that I can even watch MU play right now instead of incessantly bitch about everything like some 'fans' do.

Good spin, but what percentage of those plays did you enjoy watching?

If we judge the guy on results we have to give him the benefit of the doubt on a gritty win, can't be two faced.

That said, let's see if MU can beat UConn and keep it going

Excellent perspective; I would say that, as I happen to share it.

I enjoyed the majority of the plays in the second half, when our guys showed tenacity, cajones, hustle, determination and just enough talent to rally from an 18-point deficit with 19 minutes remaining to win a Big East road game.

First half sucked. Nobody enjoys seeing their favorite team struggle. I sure as hell enjoyed watching the second half comeback. I enjoyed a moment of celebration for Jamal Cain who has been nothing but a hard-working component of the team since 2017. It's cool to see that.

Granted I spent years behind the hoop and next to the bench photographing games. I like being able to watch the team on TV more often. Hope to see a strong performance vs. UConn as well.

The women had their game postponed due to COVID.   Nova isn't playing Wright now.  MU won a conference road game.

Nice, wish I had your seats! Share photos!
Yea if I had to give a percentage I'd say that 35% of the game was enjoyable, but the result is what matters. Tbh that first half was almost too much for even me.

You are right watching Jamal be the hero was worth it's weight in gold.

Ha, it's been nice not trudging through the snow in freezing temps to get there half an hour early. Miss it sometimes. Just needed a break.

And I agree with you. I'll always support the team. I hate seeing them come out with a clunker of a first half like that. Very demoralizing. I think the second half was a bit of a sobering experience. Don't get so down on them that I don't have the energy to get back up when it really mattered. These guys are only around for a handful of years. Enjoy it while it lasts and hope for more excitement in the future.
