CBP profile my people who landed here over 100 yrs before Mayflower. Most I've had to deal with are ignorant & low IQ.
Can't believe we're living in the land of F 452/1984/Animal Farm/Brave New World/Handmaid's Tale. When travel to Mars begins, expect Starship Troopers

asdfasdf

I originally thought this meant Butler University was under quarantine.

Hope Jimmy is ok.

Oh sh*t. This isn't a good sign for the NBA pulling this off

My guess is he probably came into contact with someone not part of Heat team who tested positive. Staff member, some trainer, etc. I think Crowder was not supposed to say it and then acted like he was not sure.

If someone of Jimmy's age and health, really any NBA player, contracts Covid, it's really, really unlikely to be a serious health issue.

The whole NBA bubble approach is like a contemporary version of Poe's "The Mask of the Red Death".  Keeping Covid out doesn't seem like a realistic goal.
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

It's not just about him, it's who he can spread it to.

Why is this such a hard concept for people to grasp?

Are you an expert on the unknown long term effects of a novel virus?

There is plenty of evidence of lung scarring, blood clots and cardiac effects, even among young and previously healthy people. Professional athletes are not immune from these effects.

Regarding the initial article, it's unknown whether he had the heart problem prior to contracting the disease.  Perhaps he didn't, and the disease caused the damage.  But I suspect that only patients that enter the damaging second stage of the disease, with blood clotting and severe lung inflammation, will have any long term effects.  Can't state this for certain, but that's true of many things in life, and no reason not to go on living your life.

I'd ask related questions of the doc referenced in the second article about likely risks to otherwise healthy patients in their 20s.

Do you know that many healthy young people that don't get seriously sick end up with less lung capacity. That would be devastating to a pro athlete. People keep on focusing on death,  this virus can do a lot more even to healthy with mild symptoms. https://www.firstpost.com/health/studies-suggest-even-mild-symptoms-of-covid-19-can-cause-severe-damage-to-lungs-heart-and-brain-8440001.html

Problem is it basically attacks organs causes inflammation and because it is a new virus reaction of your body can be random. They have just found out there seem to be an percentage of the population that have an amount of immunity from previous corona virus, some of the common colds or other mild Sars infections.

Seems to be going better than baseball and football? Interesting note with football...70% of players considered high risk...mostly related to obesity.

How awesome is Butler. Able to score 16 points while in quarantine!
Article may have had a bit of speculation in it.

Crowder was the one Who said it. Maybe precautionary and tested negative?

Most likely. Probably came into contact with someone who tested positive, and they were waiting to get back a negative test before letting him out of quarantine.
