Made recent Coaching changes...Va Tech lost their top 6 scorers from last year, besides Landers Nolley, not a lot of talent...and yet..they win games..Not one of their fans expected a year like they are having...why do you think that is?? Coaching.

Then there's Butler...a VERY limited roster talent wise, and they are ranked in the top 5 in the country and have lost one game this year..I can promise you not a single person expected that from them..heck, they were picked to finish 8th in the BE by the Coaches. How are they doing it?? Coaching. There is no other explanation.

Then there's MU...they have an All American, one of the best scorers in NCAA history and a roster that is certainly more talented than Va Tech's or Butler's...Here they are 1-3 in conference(not even mentioning the previous 5 years), and in danger of not making the NCAA's...why are they doing it?? Coaching.

Hopefully that gives some some perspective on the situation.

Virginia Tech? They have a good win over Michigan State when MSU was really struggling following the death of Winston's brother. Otherwise? They've beat...Syracuse and NC State? There's not much there.

That's the point...they weren't even supposed to be beating teams like Cuse and NC State...some people thought they might not win a game in the ACC

The media was bad at predicting their results seems to be an odd argument in their favor. People are idiots.

Marquette is better than VT by pretty much every statistical measure.

Agreed on Butler.

VT is 54 on KenPom and we are 39.  The difference isnt as stark as I would personally think--especially if they are in 'full rebuild - cupboard is bare mode'

Butler returned like everyone from last year and even added a quality piece or two.

It's more likely that most people just completely missed the boat on them than some proof that Wojo sucks

Regardless, the point is..they have gotten MUCH MUCH better since last year,  and regardless of what they brought back, no one saw it coming. That's about Coaching. Their roster isn't as good as MU's(and not saying MU's is particularly great) and they certainly don't have an all american like MU does. Good Coaches can get the most out of teams that aren't particularly talented. That's what Lavall is doing..Wojo is not.

Guru-

Hi bud. First interaction with you and I appreciate your passion for MU. It does give perspective, and the thought of "oh man I wish we were Butler" is vomit inducing. I'm traveling to Indy in a few weeks and I'm confident we got this, btw.

I like your perspective but you've gotta look at it all my friend. Don't narrow the googles to the negatives. Look at UNC- legendary, Mount Rushmore couch who just stole one of our prized recruits! Oops. I'm too drunk to find other examples, but they exist both ways.

Now, a better way to put it is that you can't have fails year after year, then it becomes a bad trend. I remember towards the end of the Buzz yrs, my second favorite to freshman year final four in 2003, I remember seeing a list of some powerhouses that had missed the tournament in the last 5 yrs- this was like 2013 and the list included teams like UNC, ucla, etc- and i remember thinking man we've got it good, we are spoiled!

We were. Buzz was legit, dude just found a way. We won in the primetime, but we were spoiled. This hiatus sadly proves it. However, gimme two more yrs of patience here. I won't say wojo has earned it, but MARKUS as his prized recruit has earned it when he's gone.

Stay with me brother
