Famous Green Bay Real Chili

On Milwaukee has a small collection of photos in this article, many taken near Marquette, in the late 70s.

Great photos, little before my time.  But here's the question.  Having spent plenty of time and money at Real Chili, I never once heard "Green Bay style" mentioned.  Anybody know the roots of that designation?
