Apologies if this was posted here earlier, but I don't remember seeing it. Worth a read, with brief comments for each player. Included on the list from the Big East:

2.  Markus Howard, Marquette
3.  Myles Powell, Seton Hall
24. Naji Marshall, Xavier
29. Kamar Baldwin, Butler
37. Ty-Shon Alexander, Creighton
40. Alpha Diallo, Providence
50. James Akinjo, Georgetown
72. Paul Scruggs, Xavier
74. Omer Yurtseven, Georgetown
75. Paul Reed, DePaul
81. Mustapha Heron, St. John's

Bryan Antoine, Jermaine Samuels and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (Villanova), Tyrique Jones (Xavier), LJ Figueroa (St. John's) and Marcus Zegarowski (Creighton) named Honorable Mention.

• Markus Howard was the unanimous choice at the #2 spot.

• The Big East includes 2 of the Top 3 players -- as many players in the Top 10 as the ACC and the SEC, and more than any other conference. Expect to hear Markus Howard's and Myles Powell's names mentioned a lot during the season.

• The Big East includes 7 of the Top 50 players -- behind only the Big Ten (with 10). It's worth noting that the number of teams in conferences like the ACC (15), Big Ten (14), Pac-12 (12) and SEC (14) compared to the Big East (10).

• The Big East includes 11 of the Top 100 players -- behind the SEC (16), Big Ten (14) and ACC (12), tied with the Pac 12 and ahead of the Big 12 (10).

• The Top 100 includes players from 9 different Big East schools -- as many as the ACC and SEC, and more than any other conference.

• Twenty different teams have two or more players on the list, with Kentucky leading the way at four players (#31 Tyrese Maxey, #59 Ashton Hagans, #71 Kahlil Whitney and #83 EJ Montgomery).

Interesting that Nova is the only BE team without a top 100 player yet picked to win the league.

The difference in perception right now of Naji Marshall and Alpha Diallo surprises me. I imagine it's because generally X is considered the better team, but as players, give me Diallo every day.

I'd put Koby right around 50.  I'd take him over Akinjo right now.

It would be interesting to compare this list before and after the season.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Akinjo is the only one who raises an eyebrow for me. Despite the thrashing he gave us in the home closer, I think his numbers are a bit exaggerated due to playing on a bad team last season. I think Georgetown has one more year of wandering the desert before a return to the promised land

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

I don't think I'll ever get all the Naji Marshall love.  Top 100? Sure, but top 25???  I'd take Alexander, Diallo, and probably even Scruggs before Marshall.

I agree.  He's probably the third best player in the league right now.  College basketball analysts are sleeping on this guy and Providence.  They were close last year with dubious PG play.  Now that's taken care of via grad transfer, I think they'll be a load.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Interesting that you have the top 3 players in the BEast in Howard, Powell, and Diallo. Howard is the well respected overall nice guy, and the other two are complete a**clowns. Diallo is probably my least fav player in the conference and Powell showed himself completely in MSG. And it's not cause they are good. I had nothing against Ponds or Govan or Booth/Paschall.
