Markus rated just behind Cassius.     And considered the best returning scorer in NCAA.   One writer's opinion.

The scoring and shooter part is well deserved. That he is a point guard is not exactly his game. He is a shooting guard who plays out of position until there is a better option at point for MU.

He's not a terrible PG by any means.  He was fourth in BE assist percentage last year, and if he could get his turnover percentage more in line with 2017-18, then he would be fine.  Hopefully that is what he is working on this off-season.

There may be times that someone like Koby is running the point, but I highly anticipate that it will be Markus primarily.

He is clearly a shoot-first guard, whether at point or not.

Yeah but there are a lot of PGs like that around.  In fact, when you are as good at shooting as he is, he SHOULD be a shoot-first PG.

I just don't think this traditional idea of getting a PG and playing Markus off the ball makes a lot of sense.  The offense the last two years worked with shoot-first PGs, in either Rowsey or Markus.  He has to be better at understanding when to give it up and not to turn it over when he does make that decision.  If he can even show modest improvement in those areas, he will be just fine.

We will see what works or not.  A 1 dimensional offense just won't cut it.
