This happened earlier, instructed to foul which they clearly did, and the refs called nothing.  Comical

Nope.  In a live dribble situation the player is allowed to gather, establish a pivot foot, jump stop and go into a shooting motion.  Completely legal.

Except that’s not what he did (get in a shooting position). It’s a travel.

Should have been a non-shooting foul. Ridiculous. In case this is news to anyone, bad calls decide games all the time.
