I happened to catch "The Jerry Wainwright Show" last night on 670 AM here in Chicago last night. Nothing earth-shattering. He was very complimentary of our guards and mentioned he thought the key was keeping our transition game in check. He said the best way to do that is to not turn the ball over and to make shots. Again, nothing earth shattering. He does think DePaul's quickness matches up with ours.

One thing I did find interesting is that he compared Lazar Hayward to Wilson Chandler, which I think is very high praise considering Chandler went in the first round to the Knicks. I'm not sure if Lazar has his size, but I think it's a pretty good comparison. I just think if Hayward could become more of a focal point, he'd shine more consistently.

He also mentioned that, coming off our two losses it was a very big game for us. He may have even used the words "must win."

I'm not sure what I think of him as a coach, but he's definitely a pretty funny guy.

He is pretty funny and has a very self deprecating sense of humor. I've caught him on Mike North's show a couple of times and he's pretty candid. I like him, and he seems like a good guy, but I just don't buy into the idea that he's the best candidate for the DePaul job. It's a real shame Leitao left for Virginia. I happen to love the Marquette-DePaul rivalry and I think its best when both programs are doing well.
