When Marquette played IU back in November, the Hoosiers were a Top 25 KenPom team. Three months later, they've dropped 11 of 12 games and fallen all the way to a #47 ranking. Where did this team go wrong?

TAMU, Knower of Ball

You know, some of the signs were there early. Lost to a bad Arkansas team, struggled to beat bad Penn State/Northwestern teams, some of their cupcake wins were a little closer than they should have been. Honestly, them cleaning our clocks along with 1 possession home wins over Louisville and Butler were the only things propping them up. Competition level jumped up and they fell.

Another good reminder that weird sh*t can happen in any individual game. We played our worst game of the season at IU and it seems like IU played their absolute best game of the season the same night. Result is the better team getting thrashed. Just about any team can beat any team if the stars align. Its what makes sports so great.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

IU started out great.    I predicted MU's loss to them because they looked faster against their cupcakes than MU looked against ours.   And in their gym, on that night, against the first big name to come to town, they were sky high, faster, more aggressive, fueled by a rabid fan base.      Well, a couple of injuries, a suspension, and 20 games later, they can no longer win that way.    Their guard play has been inconsistent.   Romeo and Morgan are usually in foul trouble.    And they don't have enough depth to be able to cover the foul trouble or the long season.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

Well, it all started when R. Montgomery Knight realized that the folding chairs weren't bolted to the floor....

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

GooooMarquette

They peaked on November 14. Probably not gonna work for them....

He lost the locker room weeks ago.  Internal fights among players, the absolute embodiment of individuals over team.
"I hate everything about this job except the games, Everything. I don't even get affected anymore by the winning, by the ratings, those things. The trouble is, it will sound like an excuse because we've never won the national championship, but winning just isn't all that important to me." Al McGuire

The Millers are the most overrated brothers since the Jonases.

KP still has our losses to Saint John's as slightly worse.

Another pretty weird case in Illinois, which basically went the opposite path of Indiana in getting to the same place. Illinois had a putrid start to the season before ripping off some big Big 10 wins and nearly (deliciously) sacking UW. They are 10-16 yet somehow 6-9 in a "stacked" Big 10.
