SJU almost never plays well at MSG during the tourney or regular season..is it any wonder they ALWAYS play MU at that band box carnesecca??

Kinda interesting results too.

So far, they have played only two BE games at MSG and they are 0-2. They have played 4 BE games at Carnesecca and they are 3-1. And it is NOT because they schedule the best teams at MSG - their two losses are to GTown (5-7) and PC (4-8).

MSG might give them a little bit of a home-court advantage, but it sure doesn't seem to be much....

I'm not worried about the team being tired. I just don't get worked up about the BET because I don't think it will have any bearing on our NCAA performance. As for seeding, I really doubt we can move up to a 2, even with a BET win.

FWIW - our last Final Four appearance was preceded with a disheartening loss in the C-USA Tournament. Our last conference tournament title let to a one-and-done NCAA. I'm not saying fatigue was a factor - just saying I don't think there is any relationship between conference tournaments and the NCAA, unless you are on the bubble.

This is where I'm at, too.

I'm guessing Virginia's players weren't sitting at their lockers after the UMBC loss saying, "Well, at least we won the ACC tournament."

If we win the BET, that would be cool. But if we don't, it really won't bother me. (There I go ... not being as "competitive" as guru again.) I will be more disappointed if we lose any of our regular-season games, and I will be 10x as disappointed if we lose in the NCAAs.

As for St. John's ... wouldn't mind playing them again at all.

I don't care who Marquette plays in the BET.  Then again,  I don't really care that much about Marquette winning the BET.

Regular season and NCAA tournament are much more important to me.  When Marquette is a lock to get an at large, losing in the conference tourney is "meh."

I just want to win a game! We haven't played on Friday night since reconfiguration.

This is true. Even if St. Johns wins, and MU loses @Nova they will be ahead.

At this point...please just keep St. Johns on the other side of the BET bracket.

I mean...they'll have to beat someone other than us first. As long as they find draw Creighton first, we probably won't be playing them, whatever side is the bracket they are on.
