TAMU, Knower of Ball

I did enjoy the Anim, Bailey, Hauser, Hauser, John lineup a lot. I wouldn't mind throwing that one out there for a few possessions in the future

That lineup was very solid defensively and offensively. When Theo went out and Matt substituted that lineup continued to work well. Tremendous size on the floor.

We really haven't talked about it and this thread is as good as any.  Matty did a more than serviceable job last night.  Two plays especially come to mind.  On one, he set a fantastic free throw line screen for Sacar who made it cleanly to the rim, almost without resistance.  On another, he boxed out so well that the ball literally landed on the court and he went over and picked it up.  Loved it.

I think that line up would struggle against determined full court pressure.    Not what Georgetown ran last night.    Also, as efficient as the offense was, other than Sacar a couple of times, the offense was created off of off the ball movement creating angles and mismatches, not so much beating a man one on one.     Other than a couple of Sam's shots.      What was nice was being able to switch 5 positions on defense.    Bailey being able to contain Akinjo (sp?) and block several of his shots was great.

This is why I am really excited about the number of tall guards that are committed to play for MU the next few years.     A line up of, say McEwen, GE, Sam, Joey, and Bailey can switch all 5 positions with adequate size against all but the best big men.      Theo in for Bailey and that is taken care of.
