From a team standpoint-The lack of an outside pure shooter and the obvious weaknesses in the front court are really what is hurting this team. As good and talented as James, McNeal, and Matthews are, none can just camp behind the arc and bail us out of a possession or against a zone.

I thought Fitz could really help this team, but he's just not there this year. This team should be playing to it's strength and pressing for at least 15-20 minutes a game. If we're best when we create turnovers and play in transition, why not try this full court, 40 minutes of hell style?

Post season outlook-The schedule still works out favorably for Marquette. Discounting FLGC, MU has 12 conference games left, 6 at home, 6 on the road.

The key stretch to MU's season starts on Feb 2nd @ Cincy, and ends Feb 15th at home against Pitt. In that strecth, MU goes @ Cincy, vs Ville, @ ND, @ Seton Hall, vs Pitt.

As bad as MU has been, they still get Georgetown, DePaul, Pitt, 'Ville to all come to Milwaukee. I honestly believe that come BE tourney time, you can throw out the seeds this year. Seton Hall, St. John's, South Fla, and Rutgers most likely will be the four teams left out, and after that, it'll be a fight to the finish.

Getting a top 4 seed and a bye is vital. It's still early, and hopefully MU can right itself and take care of business.

The bad news is that MU is sitting at 3-3 and not playing very well. The good news is that they still have 2/3 of the season left to play, and with the exception of Georgetown, they are only a game behind everyone else. All is far from lost, but they need to start playing better.

I agree with MUDish.  We have five guards, six with Christopherson, we should be pressing all day long!!!!!!!  When Louisville put a token press on us it slowed us down and killed our offensive flow.  If we try to trade half court sets with teams we are going to lose most of the time.  I still think we can finish in the top three in the BE, the schedule favors us.  GO WARRIORS!
