It's never a bad thing to have a player get a write-up a a top-10 PoY candidate for a national outlet, but the more I thought about the Markus/Steph comp in SI, the more it bugged me, so I wrote this up. It's short and includes the only reason you'll ever need to discount my opinions on anything near the bottom.

Really good read. The 8 player carve out shows how great Markus has already been; with the change in roster makeup plus another off-season of work he could be in line for an absolutely monster year this year.

More than helping the bigs, I think Joseph helps Markus slow down his game a bit.  Drewski sped it up with success, but Joe will help Sam increase his usage and with Markus to increase the quality of his shots.  Our guards were too frenetic at times last year (fun to watch, though).

Yep agree, sum of the parts upgrade in his surroundings

I am projecting Markus for a 24-25 ppg season with improved shooting percentage based on better shot quality. I definitely think JC will feed Markus the ball in places he likes to shoot .
