Wow, a lot a gloom on here because we didn't beat Harvard "easily enough".

Though it is a bummer the team ended the game less healthy than they started.

But for some perspective, this was the first Marquette postseason win since 2013, and first NIT win since 2004. Marquette will be playing in March longer than at least 61 of the 100 teams that make the NCAA and NIT.

Hey rock! Do us a favor and stop posting positive happy things and facts! We didn't win the national championship so we stink alright!

And 2013?? I thought buzz's last year was so loaded and preseason ranked that we won it all?

Jk. But seriously:
GO MU!

Isn't the BET considered "post-season"?  Or are we talking "post-post season"?

I guess an interesting philosophical question.  I've never thought of a team that has a couple good games in their conference tourney as one that has "postseason success".  Has Providence already had a successful postseason?

So no, I'm not counting conference tournament wins as part of the post-season.

Hey, we didn't just win a postseason game. We are one of the last 16 teams in a tournament?

WE MADE THE SWEET SIXTEEN!

And since the NIT is now operated by the NCAA, that banner can read:

One could argue the BET means much more. Especially with teams banged up while others have players dropping out.  The NIT to start is Spring Training-like until NYC.

Interesting note, the favored seed won every NIT game except one in the first round. The one exception was 5-seed Washington, who ended up hosting the 4-seed Boise State due to scheduling conflicts. So I'm pretty sure every home team won.

Mmmmmmm. Chalk. Delicious nutritious chalk.

Could indicate that Dance Card's (and others') assertion that the bubble was very stiff this year. Teams that usually would be in the tournament got shoved into the NIT and are easily handling the lower seeds.

RE: the negativity here...

I've posted this before but I'm on 3 different text strings about MU hoops. In total 11 different MU grads from the 90's & 00's.  All are very frustrated and none are yet sold on Wojo. Of them 7 are season ticket holders.  A handful of them have attended multiple B&G auctions / tip-off luncheons / private STH practices etc (ie engaged fans).

I tend to find scoop a haven for positive thought compared to my conversations with my "real world" friends.  I don't know about you but I don't come across nearly the amount of optimism  in real life as I do here.  It's one of the reasons I keep coming back to scoop.  It provides me some hope.

And I don't know if it was mentioned, but Harvard was the first victory of the season scoring less than 70 points.

Oh, I agree with this - at least a bit.  I'm finding more apathy among casual fans (though...outside of MKE, so maybe that's the difference).  And a few (including Mrs. Rocky)  that didn't seem to like Wojo from the start (I think the Duke connection was the  main problem).  Hopefully the optimists here are correct, and Wojo gives them all something to be less apathetic about next year...

Is it because like minded individuals hang out with like minded individuals?  Or is this a diverse group of people with honestly different opinions and different benchmarks?  Someone that went to school during Dukiet is going to view differently the MU world from those that went to school during McGuire.

What do these people think would happen if Wojo were let go by MU or walked on his own?  I assure you their frustrations would triple because MU has proven incapable for 50 years of bringing in a high profile, known quantity coach.

I wouldn't call us liked minded.  Traditionally they were split 50-50 on favorability for TC or Buzz.

Yep, their offense was so bad it made our defense look competent.
