In my research so far, here are the most points by a college player by his 19th birthday

1. Markus Howard 3-3-2018 - 1,016 points for Marquette

2. Kevin Durant 11-29-2007 - 903 for Texas

3. Tim Duncan 4-25-95 - 860 points for wake forest ( added after initial)

4. Wayman Tisdale 6-9-1983 - 810 for Oklahoma

5. Carmelo Anthony 5-29-2003 - 778 for Syracuse

6. Steph Curry 3-14-2007 - 700 for Davidson (day after his birthday added 30 in loss to Maryland to end freshman season)

7. Marvin Bagley III 3-14-2018 - 539 point for Duke and several games left before birthday

8. Anthony Davis 3-11-2012 - 485 for Kentucky

9. Miles Bridges 3-21-2017 - 473 for Michigan State

10. Michael Beasley 1-9-2008 - 360 for k-state (missing a couple of box scores right around his birthday so could be a few off)

Many great freshman had ZERO when they were 19 before starting their freshman season, including top two this year (Trae Young and Deandre Ayton), Purdue's Glenn Robinson, and LSUs Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf (previously Chris Jackson).

If anyone can find others or figure out a methodology that would be great but there's the start.

don't forget Tim Duncan.
He had two full years in before he turned 19.

He put up some nice numbers although he wasn't the scorer Markus is.
first two years:  64 games/starts, 860 points,  718 rebounds,  259 blocks

Thank you! Started with best freshman seasons and birthdays, so that's a great addition and I will look for more.

Actually lived in Charlottesville at the time and watched Duncan at UVa.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Honestly, I would guess that it would be some random low major player

I added him in at no. 3 as of his April 25, 1995 19th birthday.

Could be, but reclassifying and starting as young as Howard did with as prodigious a scoring record is pretty rare at any level.

added a few updates, but many freshman have ZERO at 19 years old, and only 5 players in Sports Reference ever scored 1000 in a season:

1. Markus Howard 3-3-2018 - 1,016 points for Marquette

2. Kevin Durant 11-29-2007 - 903 for Texas

3. Tim Duncan 4-25-95 - 860 points for wake forest ( added after initial)

Stay off scoop, Alan.  Priorities.

We're in total holding pattern. The doctor is inducing, but there's really nothing going on until morning (other than sleeping on a crappy couch). Just reading Scoop and a baby book.

I ran across a few more with nice freshmen years:
J.J. Redick   6/24/2002     495
Pervis Ellison  4/3/1986    510
Reggie Lewis  11/21/1984    571

Then I looked at Shaquille O'Neal.
Born 3/6/1972
Similar to Markus, he had his 19th birthday near the end of his sophomore season.

O'Neal scored 445 points as a freshman.  Just a bit ahead of Markus' 410.
Shaq put up 774 as a sophomore which put him at 1219 at the end of his second season.

LSU only played two games after 3/6/1991.  A NCAA game on 3/14 where Shaq scored 27
And a Conf Tourney game against Auburn on 3/8/1991.  Auburn won 92-77.  I believe Shaq, may have sat out this game with a leg injury.

Unofficially, that puts Shaq around 1192 by his 19th birthday.

Also found Shaq's high school team photo.

Their weren't any names attached, so I'm not positive which one he was.
