Forget Heldt and Fro's missed bunnies...
« on: February 10, 2018, 01:02:22 PM »
I never hear anyone bring up Marcus Howard's missed layups.  I'd be interested if one of our stat guru's show the numbers comparing them.

Maybe Marcus doesn't get the calls wojo wants because he's afraid of contact?  I can't recall another guard who've I seen miss so many layups

Let's all stop M2N

Yup. This. Attempting to avoid contact is a prerequisite for a ref not calling a foul, regardless if it was actually a foul. ::)

Sorry, but every time Marcus falls to the ground, it's not a foul.  He fades from contact from my observation

Markus would fall down on just about every shot last season anytime a defender was closing out on him. Don’t think it’s helped build a lot of credibility with officials. That said he has made some tough finishes through contact. I’ll give the kid a pass cause he makes the vast majority of his layups.
The reason M2N needs to be put on pause is his ballhandling, dribbles it off his foot against token pressure far too often. The last play against providence at home this season and at seton hall last season both come to mind.

Coming into today, at the rim shooting:
M2N - 51/91 56.0%
Harry - 16/23 69.6%
Matt - 29/45 64.4%
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

F’ing swear to God, if I had the time to figure out how to post gifs on Scoop from my iPhone //////s, I would be posting adorable bunny gifs on every thread right now.  I’m not even watching the last 1:30 so I can type this.  Screw you, world.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Bigs are supposed to finish at the rim way better than guards

I remember when I was at MU, during the James, McNeal, Matthews era, we would play these really bad teams in the Big East (USF, Rutgers, Providence, DePaul, etc.). Every game the team had 1 player that would score 30 + points. My friends and I would talk about how it was a mark of a bad team. I team that didn't have balance, experience, age, fundamentals etc.

Fast Forward to today watching both St. Johns and MU and it's sad to see were are now one of those teams.

Do you have the same numbers for uncontested layups?
