Nice to have a decent, relatively neutral opinion saying we're still right in the discussion.

Don't care about Buzz, but I'm glad we're still in the conversation and not completely out. A win tomorrow would be huge.

Could we actually get in at like 8-10 in BE?

Theoretically possible, but I doubt it unless we went bonkers in the BET. Not even sure that would do it.  But it'd probably be close.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

For reference, at 8-10 (losses @Hall, @Creighton and @Georgetown), MU's RPI is 59 and SOS is 28 heading into BET.  Last year at 10-8 when we got the top 10 seed, our RPI 67 and SOS 55.  So we'll have better computer numbers this year at 8-10 than last year at 10-8.

BET results based on 8-10 record and 7th place finish:

Add a BET win over SJU and loss to X: RPI: 58, SOS: 26.

Add a BET win over SJU, win over X, loss to SHU: RPI: 57; SOS: 22.

Add a BET win over SJU, win over X, win over SHU, loss to Nova: RPI: 48, SOS: 9

I think it would require the rest of the bubble to implode more than it already has and usually does, but its theoretically possible to get in at 8-10 with a couple wins at MSG.

Man, we are 4-7 in conference.  We lost 6 of the last 8.  I guess I can still believe.  I'm more of looking at next year though.  Ughhhhhhh!  At least someone thinks we are on the bubble.

Xavier lost six of their final seven games to end the regular season last year and they made it to the second weekend.

Crazy crap can happen.

Here is the thing.    If this team, as currently constructed, can actually get to the dance, we will scare the living crap out of some 5-6 seed.    Coaches who have never seen MU will borrow from Big East coaches to prepare, but how do you prepare for 30 ft shots off of the dribble?     Yeah, we could catch another South Carolina team that pushes MU around like 7th graders.   Or MU's shooters could catch fire and rain 15 3's on somebody.       And then, the next team only has 48 hours to prepare for MU.

You have outlined the fundamental premise behind my thinking on the team this year.

But you believe that they can survive the rigors of the Big East.    That is the piece in serious doubt.
