MILWAUKEE - As the BIG EAST Conference season heats up for both men's and women's basketball, the Marquette Ticket Office is hosting a Sell-a-thon on Thursday, Jan. 25 with exclusive ticket offers to remaining home games this season.

9-11 a.m. – Buy a women's basketball reserved ticket for the Feb. 2 game and receive a reserved ticket to the Feb. 4 and Feb. 18 games for only $5 ($15 discount). Must call the ticket office at 414.288.4668 to order.

11 a.m.-1 p.m. – All men's and women's basketball tickets sold at the group rate for this time frame. (Excludes the Providence game on Feb. 3) Purchase through GoMarquette.com/tickets by using the promo code: MUGROUP

1-3 p.m. – Make any ticket purchase for one of the remaining men's basketball games in this time frame and the service fees are waived (Excludes the Providence game on Feb. 3). Purchase through GoMarquette.com/tickets by using the promo code: NOFEES

I get that they want to find ways to sell tickets, but it's a disincentive to be a season ticket holder. It would be nice if they threw the faithful a bone mid-season once in a while.

I wouldn't go that far, as it's just waving the ticketmaster fees. Being a season-ticket is a major savings than buying single game tickets.

I'm a STH and I never got any of those super cool pint glasses.  Apparently they were all given out right when the gates opened.  Yeah, it would be nice if the STHs were thrown a bone during the season, especially when they seem to have a bunch of extra pint glasses lying around...

I ended up with 4-5 of the pint glasses, but that was one of the more disappointing promotions. Such a limited supply and you had to get there at least an hour early. Now sending a full set to every STH would feel like a nice token of appreciation.

I'm in the camp that season ticket holders need to be thrown a bone.  I am a STH and two weeks ago bought 12 extra tickets to the Nova game for family and friends and paid all the fees, etc.  Would have been nice to know this deal was coming.  The sad reality is that for 90+% of the home games, it's more advantageous to be a buyer than a seller of tickets in the hours, days, and weeks before the game.  (Providence is the exception this year and perhaps Creighton will be as well.)  So yes--there are serious disincentives for being a season ticket holder.  The new arena may help that, but we shall see.
