Does anybody know a way to get music from an iPhone onto a MacBook?  There was a problem with my MacBook and Apple needed to wipe my hard drive so all of my music went with it.  I have some music that isn't linked to my iTunes account that is on my phone that I will lose if I sync my iPhone with my iTunes.  Does anybody know how to get the music from my iPhone back onto my iTunes?

Thanks in advance.

Need to set up an icloud account to back up both your phone and macbook.  Then you can share data between the two devices (in this from your phone to your Macbook).

Does that work for any music file or just purchases made through iTunes?  Every time I back up from the cloud, only my purchases reload... anything that was ripped from an actual CD (note to Millenials - this is a shiny disc resembling a blu-ray that only had enough storage for about a dozen songs or a very short porno video) - or in Wades' case, all those pirated MP3's - I have to reload from my media server at home.

Wades -- Have you tried connecting to your Mac and opening up your iPhone in Finder as if it were merely an external hard drive?  I transferred music from my iPhone to my PC via Windows Explorer several years ago... I just opened the drive that said "iPhone" and simpy dragged and dropped the music files, though - full disclosure - I don't recall if I was also running third-party software that allowed the PC to recognize the phone as a hard drive.

EDIT: I must have been running third party software - though my previous phone that I did this on was jailbroken, so maybe that was it.... I've got a //////s now and all I can see in Windows Explorer are my JPEGs.

Check out this link... Senuti seems like it might be your answer:

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Thanks.  I ended up just buying a $25 app for the MacBook and it did it for me in like 5 minutes.  Sucks to have to pay it but even the most tech savvy people I know (who still aren't overly tech savvy, but far more than I am) weren't sure of a way to do it.

You made the right choice and $25 is well worth it. The Third party stuff is somewhat reliable but there are enough horror stories to make one think twice about it.
