I wish the fans in Orlando would start chanting "trade diener."  they really need to let that kid go to some team that will be able to use him and stop letting him rot on the end of the bench.

but the "play Novak" chants are nice to see.

so if james goes early and the heat pick him up.. and then they get diener and novak through trades to boost their perimeter shooting... and oh what the heck go find Jackson and Merritt and bring them in to spell Shaq.. should they then also change their colors to blue and gold?

Speaking of Jackson and Merritt, are those two playing anywhere this year (Europe?)?

Robert Jackson is now playing for the Liaoning Panpan Hunters in the Chinese Basketball Association (drafted on August 3rd of this year).  He previously had played in the europe league (with the Huelva spain team).

Scott Merritt is playing in the NBA developmental league for the Austin Toros and doing pretty darned good it looks like.. they just played their second game of the 2006-2007 season last saturday and he played almost the entire game, led his team in scoring (22) and rebounds (10) for a double-double.  His 2005-2006 stats aren't terrible either..  he started all but 2 games, held a 10.7ppg and 5.8rpg average.

I anticipated Novak playing a little more this season..granted he is somewhat one-dimensional, but the Rockets wanted a shooter. Couldn't believe that he didn't get on the floor in Milwaukee..hopefully, he will see some more playing time this season. As for Diener, I wish he could land a different team. It trully is disheartening to see players like Chris Quinn from Notre Dame get a chance to play on the Heat (as far as I know Quinn wasn't even drafted)..if anything Diener would be a solid #2 backup to a player like JWill on the Heat.
