Your definition of elite and mine are much different.  Elite was UCLA, MU, Kentucky in the 1970's.  Or similar types of teams currently.  If we're using your definition, Wisconsin-madison is elite, Notre Dame is elite

Bill Johnson is a nice enough guy but he is a bit of a stooge. It is perfect that in his rambling resignation letter he accuses the administration of being "incompatent". Bill likes to present himself as the smartest guy in the room when in actuality that is normally far from the truth. My assumption is that there is more to this story and he is just trying to get ahead before he was let go. BTW he is a terrible play by play guy.

I remember when Johnson had a huge mullet and was painfully obese back in the day.   Not that there's anything wrong with that.   He'd wear sweats to hs games.

I find the term "dumpster fire" an interesting analogy — and very fitting in this case. Everything in said dumpster is garbage that nobody cares about. The fact that it's on fire is spectacular, but ultimately pretty meaningless.
