I don't think it's a slight on us.  He's commenting on how when a mid-major (i.e. Butler) beats a few teams in November it's a big deal, but if a team like Maryland were to do the same thing it would barely make the news.  ND was one of the teams Butler beat this past week, but he's saying that isn't/shouldn't be that big of a deal.  Just like it shouldn't be that big of a deal when an upper echelon team (MU :)) beats them later this year.
