Dominic James Named BIG EAST Player Of The Week
         


Marquette University men's basketball player Dominic James has been named the BIG EAST Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

James named Big East player of the week

On the strength of his 20-point, six-assist, five-rebound, two-steal performance in the Marquette Golden Eagles' 81-76 victory at Wisconsin on Saturday, junior guard Dominic James was named Big East player of the week on Monday.
The award is the third for James; he was named player of the week twice last season. James also was named Big East rookie of the week six times as a freshman en route to winning league rookie of the year honors.
 "It was a great win for the team, and when you have wins like that the individual accomplishments are going to come," said James. "The most important thing is we got a big win, and I'm looking forward to the next game."
 Through seven games, James is averaging 15.4 points, 3.8 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game. He's also shooting 42.5% and 75.8% from the free-throw line.
