Golden Avalanche

A very good addition to the program.

A very good addition to the program.
I think the 30 second clock will benefit teams with shooters.  Teams will want one or two players on the floor who can bail out the team when the clock gets under 6 seconds or so.  We'll see more "desperation" shots near the end of shot clocks, of course.

However, these players still have to be able to drive and kick and simply drive given the supposed renewal of the emphasis on hand checking out top and on moving screens. So they can't just be stand up 3 point shooters who expect multiple screens for them.  Less time to run these players and if they all moving screens, more turnovers.

So, I like the two recent pickups.  Add Coffey as a guy that do it all as well.  Do we still add a big and over sign?

I agree with this, but hopefully we'll also see less of the PG just bouncing the ball in one place for 15-20 seconds. Hopefully, we'll see the offense get initiated sooner.

We have to see a lot less of that, it was painful last year and I sure hope that is not what we see this year!  We could see some, since our offense may come from our bigs inside versus shooters and slashers, but hopefully a lot less the offense grinding to a halt for 10 seconds where players get in position and try to run a set.

I don't think we'll see that when we have multiple shooters on the floor in a couple of years.  Less of a need to run a bunch of offense to try to get a decent shot.

We are still thin at center. Fischer and Heldt are the only two true centers. And Heldt still strikes me as a stretch PF. I love Coffey and want us to get him, but I think we need a center in the 2016 class. Coffey and Kostas? I think another scholarship will materialize if we can get Coffey and find another center that's worthy of a roster spot.

Just got off phone with buddy. I asked him whom and when Cubs play tonight. Without pause, he goes into full Harry Carey mode and goes, "Saaan Dieeego 9, hey did you know Steve Garvey spelled backwards is " Evets Yevrag??"
Which got me thinking, any good backwards name Mojo's with MU recruits??? Andrew Rowsey...We.r.dna...yes.wor(riers, warriors?) So, I take it as being Warriors is in our/his/Wojo's DNA!! Bodes well?!

Post more often dude, your kind of crazy is far superior to the kind of crazy we usually get around here.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

I saw Bill Braskey drink an entire gallon of gasoline.  He was in a coma for 3 months.  One day he sat up and said "I prefer scotch."
....I hope his transition to MU is as smooth as a nice scotch

If he were eligible he would be our third best player according to value add. Maintaining that 3-point percentage over that many attempts is huge. Being in the top 7% of players drawing fouls and then hitting 92% from the line is deadly. Hit threes and get to the line - that's the whole game now. His percentage in between on 2-pointers was low, but us analytics guy know settling for mid-range shots is rarely good for anyone. Don't forget, the only two players to hit 50% of shots between the rim and the are were Dwyane and Dirk.

This is a huge get.
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

LAMUfan

And if his usage is down because the team is better it is likely that a higher percentage of his shots will be threes and less mid range that he is not as good at.  Both he and Hauser are the type of guys we have been missing in recent years in regards to shooting.
