Tugg Speedman

Jumped a pedestrian (for him) 6' 9" to win the dual meet against UWM in the valley field this weekend.  As a team MU beat UWM 104 to 84.

This was the second outdoor meet of the year.  He also took second at the Texas Relays in late March.  Wally cleared 7' 2.25.  The winner was Jacorian Duffield of Texas Tech, who eventually cleared 7-7 for the win.  (Wally finished third in NCAA indoors, Duffield won it)

MU's next meeting is April 16 to 18 in Walnut CA at the Mt. Sac relays.  This is one of the biggest meets of the year (and a meet that has elite high schoolers invited to it).

At the home meet where he jumped 6'9" they actually moved the high jump inside in the old gym and it is not very conducive to quality high jumping.

Was this due to weather? Did they move the pole vault indoors? I know they have done that in years past.

It was due to the weather but I am pretty sure pole vault stayed outside.  I am not sure of the current situation but my guess is they have a high jump pit both indoors and out, whereas they probably only have one pole vault pit and it would be too difficult to move in a short time.

Oh no, the Badger trolls are going to be all over this - another run in with the law.
