Possibility of an overseas trip?
« on: March 21, 2015, 12:23:53 AM »
With so many new players coming in next season, it seems like this will be the kind of team that could really benefit from traveling overseas this summer.

I remember O'Neil organizing a trip at some point (to Europe?) during the days of Mac, Key, Logterman and Curry. Think it was a great experience for them, on the court and off.

Wow. I missed that news — thanks for posting. This could be a sign Wojo thinks he really has something special in this team.

Or a sign that you can only do such a trip once every four years and not going this year is another opportunity/year wasted under current NCAA Bylaws.
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

So why didn't Wojo take the 2014-15 team overseas? Could be he didn't have enough time to get a trip organized. But I think it will be more beneficial this summer. It gives a young, talented team the chance to get to know one another and play together against quality competition in a road environment — all before the season even starts.

This could be a huge factor in the team's success over the next few years.

Timing of the hire, although I do agree it will be more beneficial this summer. But that doesn't mean it's a sign that he thinks he has something special in this team.
