Warrior Code

For a smaller school without a huge alumni base, it seems there is a ton of coverage on Marquette hoops. We have Paint Touches, Cracked Sidewalks, Marquette Nation, Brew City, etc, plus Scoop, Dodds and any other media not mentioned. Is this pretty standard among similar-sized schools (particularly fellow Big East members) or is Glorious Alma Mater exceptional in Her fans' passion?

21 schools have been NCAA Champs in the last 50 years.  We are one of the 21.
Passion at MU is not unusual when compared to those other 20 schools.  It is unusual compared to most small, private schools with D1 basketball.

I get that the "passion" might be the same, but the number of outlets talking/writing/commenting/podcasting seems higher than what could be expected.

Texas Western

Marquette was the number 2 program in the country when Al was coach. A true blue blood. Only UCLA was ahead of us. We were also the most exciting and very unique for the times. Because of this tradition, there are many dedicated and loyal fans to this day. Moreover among people with multiple loyalities MU stands at the top.  For example I am close to Michigan State and UNC but still put my primary focus on MU.  I suspect there are others on this board like me in that regard.

I am happy there are so many news outlets because the national and local media are only going to give us so much coverage. For example,Look at the JS, we are fourth in their pecking order. That is why we are all so happy when a guy like Matty V comes along. Having a board like this is great because the posters are constantly bringing new information to the table and sharing it.
