He must have informed the staff he's leaving at semester.  For a guy that got decent minutes as a Frosh (relative to the other Frosh) it's been quite peculiar to see him never get off the bench for a team that has 8 players.  Perhaps I missed an injury update..

It could just be circumstance. In the opener, we had the game pretty well in hand from the middle of the first half, which allowed Wojo to experiment. We didn't have that opportunity in any of the last two games, where we were on the back heel pretty much from the first five minutes. When you're chasing the game, you won't do it with guys you don't trust.

I don't think that is the case. It doesn't make sense from a transfer perspective. If he was going to transfer he should have done it already so he could play with his future teammates. If you were going to transfer at semester then it would be better not to say anything because you would get playing time to better showcase his talent. He could then wait to let the staff know and have family check interest.

I think in comparison to last year, we have new bodies in his position. I think it is safe to say if Duane was healthy Dawson would have gotten less time.

Huh? Is it that far fetched that Wojo wants to play guys he trusts with a deficit?

With a deficit or not.

We will find out shortly re: JD

GooooMarquette

Last season, JD was our #2 PG, so he got a few minutes.  It would likely have been fewer if Duane was healthy and he was #3.

This year, he's probably option #4 at PG, hence even fewer minutes.  And the thing is, he probably saw this coming...with Derrick back, Matt transferring in, and Duane healthy.  Given that, I suspect he'd already be gone if he planned to leave.  My guess is that he sees the possibility of backing up Duane the next two seasons, plus the chance to get additional minutes when Duane plays SG.

Texas Western

I think Dawson enjoys Marquette. He will get more PT as the season progresses.

So where's Noskowiak in that equation?

Dawson will be here for a while.  He is persistent, and is not a quitter.  He knows that if he works hard, he will be part of something very special.

Getting 4 minutes in 3 games combined and Riding the bench with a 8 man rotation in front of you is uninspiring. . .

Let's hope things work out well for JD. He is an awesome young man.

Death on call

Goose

Seems like a great kid, but he is lost in shuffle. Do not see him getting big minutes this year or down the road.
