Excellent showing. 7/10 teams? Does any other conference have 70% of its teams in the projected field?

And out of those seven, we will end up with four.

Only 5 from the BIG and one of the 5 is in a "play in" game. I agree they're weak this year but probably not that weak.

We'll end up with at least 5 at large, and that doesn't even factor in a potential surprise winner in NYC

We had a great non-conference for sure. Probably the best of any conference. But we are about to eat each other alive in conference play. I would expect that seven to shrink down to four or five.

The conference tournament this year should be outstanding to watch.  You could sell me on most of the conf having a shot.

Marquette is going to surprise a lot of people in the Big East this year. We will be the team no one wants to play.  If we take it one possession at a time we can be among the league leaders.

Our cliche' of the season is "On any given night, we can beat everybody and lose to anybody." And I'm ok with that  8-)

You may very well end up being correct - but I still say 4 - unless a .500 (or less) team wins the BET.

I think if DePaul continues to get some wins (longshot I know) and Marquette ends up like 11-7, Marquette has a chance at being the 8th team. The BE is solidly at 7 according to Lundardi.

It is impossible for MU to be 8th in a 10 team conference at 11-7.

Do the math!!

It should go without saying that if MU is 11-7 that there won't be 7 other teams that make it....  but this is the Scoop.

My thought process is this: The Big East got 4 bids last year and it was a miserable year out of conference for the league. This year, the conference performed exceptionally during OOC, and I'd be shocked if the league received the same number of bids with a drastically different performance

Marquette would more likely take someone else's spot, and DePaul getting more wins would be bad for the league. To have any shot at 8, you need two teams to be really bad. DePaul winning isn't good for anyone in this league, except arguably DePaul.

To save people the time, Lunardi says he expects the Big East to end up with 5 or probably 6 bids.

We aren't going to win 11 Big East games or go to the NCAA Tournament. Heck, 3 days ago we were done winning for the season according to some on here. Now we're going 10-6 down the stretch after a win over an average Providence team at home. Awesome.

Think you are wrong there--DePaul will be happy to play us again.

Do they include learning curve technology in their model?  Learning curve would factor in contribution by Mr. Fisher.
