Couple of the recruits Wojo and staff are linked to. Can't find much about them on rivals or espn but could possibly be late bloomers.

Marshall Cherrington @mcherrington22
Hearing new #Marquette staff is calling around about 2015 #EastsideCatholic guards Mandrell Worthy and Matisse Thybulle.

Not sure that I'd call a guy who made first team all-state in Class 3A in Washington as a junior, a late bloomer.

As a sophomore, he made third team All-metro for the Seattle area.

Seattle Basketball Services has Mandrell Worthy, 6'3" PG/SG, Eastside Catholic HS ranked second in the class of 2015, and  Matisse Thybulle, 6'6" SF, Eastside Catholic HS ranked third in the class of 2015.

Looking up Washington talent on ESPN, they seem to be unimpressed with the talent in the State of Washington for 2015.  Their top ranked guy, De'Jounte Murray, only gets a grade of 80.  Murray is also the guy that Seattle Basketball Services has ranked first for 2015.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I was initially kind of skeptical about the competition they were up against but this further validates your point. Hopefully, they begin to get recognized nationally.

Rainier Beach barely beat Eastside Catholic to win the Class 3A State Championship. Rainier was led by 2014 Louisville commit, Shaqquan Aaron.

Intriguing. West coast talent is often underranked.

Seattle area is generally blah, but they've had some solid guys.

NBA-hopeful LaVine enjoyed success as a frosh at UCLA this year...

Worthy has been a name folks in Washington have tracked for a long time. Had a nasty injury (leg fracture requiring surgery... kind of a freak injury - jumps up for layup and boom) in 2012 and sat out that entire spring and summer.

His HS team shoots a lot of treys and he can knock them down, but he can also attack off the dribble.

I believe Mandrell and Matisse are running with NorthWest XPress in the EYBL, which starts up next weekend.

Didn't Woj say he and his staff are looking at player development?  Perhaps we see some players who aren't off the charts athletically, but they play well within a system!  Oh the horror.  Seems to me we've had some athletic teams in the past get their asses kicked by a team of lower rated players.

East Coast bias.

It exists. When y'all are sleeping, the kids out here are playing their asses off til late at night.

Agree as we all know Romar's Huskies have had a ton of NBA level talent in recent years (Roy, Robinson, Pondexter, Thomas, Dawes, Brockman, Ross).  Too bad he can't coach himself out of a paper bag or Washington would be a national program

Jeezus that's the tip of the iceberg. Look at his list since 2006:

2006 Nate Robinson
2007 Brandon Roy, Bobby Jones, Wil Conroy
2008 Spencer Hawes
2010 Jon Brockman
2011 Quincy Pondexter
2012 Isaiah Thomas, Justin Dentmon
2013 Tony Wroten, Terrence Ross, Justin Holiday

12 NBAers in the past 8 years. Mind you that the last NBA pre-2006 from UDub was Todd MacCulloch.

He's had the talent but hasn't translated into tourney success...

Along with some talented players in that list are some real ball hogs and "me first" attitudes.  Probably explains the underperformance of the teams.

Almost every NBA and NCAA championship team has at least one 'me first' guy on the team.  You say that as if it's a bad thing.

It probably disgusted you watching Napier drain 25 footers without looking for his fellow team members on the way to cutting down the nets...

If guys have the talent you want them taking the shots.  Washington's problems fall squarely on Romar.  I normally am comped about 6-10 games a year by various bank reps in the area and casually get to see a lot of Husky games.  It's not the players playing selfish.  It's poor coaching.

No, I cheered for UConn over Kentucky but thanks for the attempt of reading my mind.  Some coaches get the "me first" players to play together.  Romar obviously cannot.  I think that we can agree.

I know. I WAS THERE!

I wanted to puke. Lost everything. Was with my buddy, a Gtown fan, who learned Gtown was upset by Ohio earlier in the day. He was rooting for fellow BE MU to beat UDub. That crowd was NUTS: purple EVERYWHERE. It was a home game.

I can still picture Pondexter hit the shot off the left block and Lazar heave the desperate half-court shot only to collapse to floor.

Definition of heartbreaking.
