Did our previous coach want him, go after him, etc?  Was any love shown to him by previous staff as a guy MU wanted?

Someone nearing 20,000 posts who no doubt reads this board on a daily basis should know that yes, the previous staff had been up to Rice Lake several times and had offered him a scholarship.

I don't read every post, but appreciate the comment.  Maybe a better question I should have asked is how interested was Ellenson in playing for MU for Brent?

10 days willie.  10 days from his date of hire.

Great post. Gotta keep it simple for some of the folks  ::)

Stevie Boy better talk with Ellenson. We need big men, who can handle, shoot and dish. Ellenson is not
clumbsey. I want him, period. One player to keep tabs on is Matt Heldt of Neenah. He just keeps improving.
Is 6-10. Heldt can rebound and shoot from the perimeter. Nice to have one these guys besides Stone.

Define clumbsey

I guess the 3rd time is a charm:  Clumsy

Definitely not an MU grad.

I had the impression they hired him for his coaching abilities. Assuming he was involved in any potential Duke recruits, I am not sure they would pick MU over Duke. I doubt he brings in any recruits in the late signing period. Besides that until someone announces they are not coming or staying we have no open scholarships.
What coaching experience? He has been an assistant.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

I think we ought to start an email campaign if he hasn't landed a 4+ star recruit by the end of the week.
Somebody said 10 days to land a good recruit--that would be April10. If you do not believe it, take it up with him.

Didn't seem to be very interested, no.

I'll vote for Creighton as I'm in favor of the Big East attracting as many solid recruits as possible.  It helps MU out in the long run, by making it a more competitive conference.

We've been definitely on him for awhile, would love to get him.  I think Wisconsin is probably the favorite though.

Tums Festival

The more I read about how well Ellenson played at the ny2lasports AAU tournament this weekend makes me hope Wojo has him high on his recruitment list.

The most recent stuff I'd heard was that Michigan State had moved into the lead.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I'm sure that Wojo does.  Hopefully, the change in coaches will create some interest from Ellenson where previously there was none.

The more popular "mainstream" recruiting "services" still have Henry underrated.

That should change (finally) over the course of this summer.
The portal is NOT closed.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

I hear Wojo used to work with the big men at Duke...I seem to remember a family of white big men being at Duke recently...maybe that will help

The "ignore" option is a beautiful thing.
Yeah, but you still read his crap when someone quotes him.  Can we have double secret ignore for wee willie?
