Mike Brey to Marquette - Rumors

Sources are indicating that Mike Brey has caught attention from Marquette (below).  Do we actually think he would leave the ACC to come to Marquette?  Maybe it's attractive since there won't be a football team to steal spotlight?  This is concerning...

He wouldn't be a domer.... he would be a former domer.  In my book, someone who isn't a ring-wearing goldtopper, can wash his hands clean of the green stench and yet still snub ND is better than not ever having been a domer at all.

Give him a jet that doesn't have to be cleared by the football team first and a relatively unlimited budget than he had at ND and you might be surprised.

No... I'm not saying that Brey is the next coach or has for that matter even been interviewed.  Just that I can't tell if it's myopia or ignorance that is blinding everyone here.

The other option is an interest in Marquette's future.

There are plenty of coaches who have done better than Brey at football-first schools:  Barnes, Donovan, Beilein, Bo Ryan, Matta.  You can also add both Howland and Dixon for the job they've don't at Pitt.  Hoops seems to have taken priority now, but it wasn't always that way.

Not a surprise someone named Chubby would be at the Pfister having brunch...that part's probably true.
