Hire Martin....it's growing on me

Initially I was salivating over Howland. Big name with a big resume, add some legitimacy to the program, he was interested.

Then Shakagate occurred, I was excited like a little school girl, but looking back it was more because of who Shaka turned away than what he has done. The thought of pulling off a heist was irresistible.

The more I think about it the more I want someone who wants us. We shouldn't be reaching out and taking Hail Mary's at coaches. Let them throw their name in the ring. Then sort it out from there.

If Martin called us then he's automatically 5 times more appealing than Shaka or anyone else we have to "lure" away.

He took over a complete mess after Pearl and did a pretty good job. He's young and trendy which helps recruits and gets students more involved. And he is not an assistant so he brings less risk. We can't afford to miss on an assistant. And historically assistants are on the rise and thus more likely to move on. Hiring a head coach with experience and upside is the perfect fit for where our program is right now. Salvage the recruiting class and give us some hope.
