It is what it is and we still have some great players. Our strength entering this season was/is small ball with or without Mbakwe.  I would appreciate any progress reports on Barro, Burke and Hazel.  Barro seems to improve every year  and Burke seemed to always suffer from limited playing time.   Hazel is the unsung recruit, but respected for defense and rebounding.

You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

concerning burke: the man averaged nearly 10 minutes a game last year. we're not talking about just scrub minutes. 23 minutes @ uconn, 19 @ ND. it just seems like he's never in b/c when he is he's just tip toeing around, quietly picking up fouls. when you pick up as many fouls as d. burke, you're not going to be pulling in big minutes off the bench

I thought Burke had the potential to put up some decent points for a reserve power player in our system.  Unforunately his free throw shooting was sooooooooo bad that he became less agressive as the season continued.

I actually expect an improved Burke who will log more minutes than last year and will up his scoring and rebounding numbers and provide Barro with adequate rest time during a game.

Whether you expect it or not, it's something he HAS to do.  We do not have many power players and Barro will not be able to play 30+ minutes a game constantly.  He's going to need rests and Burke will have to play and have to step up.

Burke shot 27% :o from the line last year.  He needs to double that (at least) to be a real contributor to this team.

I think if we can six minutes out of him a night it will be a lot. I know Murff likes his potential, but I haven't seen it. Maybe it's me, and I hope I'm wrong.

I like Burke's potential----but he doesn't fit the same way TC uses Barro. Burke is strictly a postup, but MU doesn't use a postup offense-----he doesn't have the same type of talent to be used the way TC uses Barro.

I like Burke - we could get some colonel sanders minutes from him - Heres to Dwight having a coming out year!

I also think Barro will be good - Crean and staff should be credited for turning Barro into a double double type player. How Brian Butch doing?
