Top ten reasons I'm excited about the future of MU basketball:

1.    We have a great opportunity to hire a coach that recognizes MU as a career destination
2.    MU can rule the NBE to see the NCAA tourney most if not all years
3.    MU becomes a destination for players who will be developed for 4 years
4.    MU becomes a magnet again for Chicago area talent
5.    NBE expands to more basketball centered schools
6.    The culture of MU basketball transcends the personality of the coach
7.    The drama of the game will become more important than the off the court drama
8.    The money is right at MU
9.    The facilities are right at MU
10.  The cast of characters can be made right

Thanks to Buzz for a great six years.  But the good work needs to be done.

We are Marquette!

No AD or Prez in place. Hold that giddiness.

I hope this 6 is including his year as an assistant.

I'd actually be excited for a new coach if it weren't for this.

This is a big deal.

No doubt, why do you take a job if you don't know who your boss will be?

If there's any weight to the rumors, I'm expecting dominos to fall quickly and consecutively.

President next week, Broeker named AD on Friday and a coach the next week.

It is hard to be excited. I figure we had one more rough year, while the incoming class gain a year of experience. Now, I wonder how many of them will actually show up?

Far from giddy here.

Goose,

Agree it's not a time to gloat but from what I heard this am enough people got tired of sucking the corn and peanuts from BW's sh1t. It was time for him to go. BW better grow a pair because he's running out of bullets.

Can always use dollars instead. Got plenty of those.

Far from giddy here.

I'm not giddy...but I do think Buzz was becoming too big of an ego...too hypersensitive...too stubborn, etc., to where I"m not sure how the program would have done moving forward with him.

Think MU has a lot of positive attributes listed in original post, Wild and Cords are no idiots, regardless of interim status.  MU has LONG shown a commitment to spending on hoops, great facilities, great tradition....

I think we'll be happy with our next hire..and I am excited to learn who it is.  I wish Buzz well in Blacksburg and won't bet against him doing well in 4 years...so long as he doesn't implode due to grinding so hard and trying to keep up with his insane rolodex/schedule..

Not giddy .. because Marquette hasn't bottomed out yet.

Brutal 12 months, and still a ways to fall.

We're fine. Bring in Howland and we climb even higher.

If this year was him trying to make a point, I'm glad he got one from MU. We don't need head cases here and our kids don't deserve to be jerked around

In what regard?  Recruits leaving?
