Early foul trouble for Providence.    The one thing they cannot handle.     Cotton with two early fouls and a bad fall.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

And Providence is up 15 in the second half while getting virtually nothing from Cotton.     Tourney time rocks.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

This is looking better and better.  Providence up big late in the second half.

Can DePaul pull off the miracle?

If we can get by Xavier I'd take our chances winning two games against DePaul and then Providence/Seton Hall on a neutral court.
Shut this board down at the opening tip.  If they win, open it back up.  If they lose, keep it shut it down until the next morning.  - Sultan of Slurpery

Huge "if"

It seems like some other BEast teams are playing their ass off. Can we?
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

Johnnies making a run.   Too little too late?    Or freight train coming down the tracks at the Friars.    I think Providence holds on, but just.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

SJU just got the benefit of one of the worst no calls ever.   Fortune has to leave the game injured, but he wasn't fouled.   Ranks up there with Crawford bleeding and having to leave the game, but no foul called.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

Oh man, Fortune got hit hard!

tower912

Followed up by Derosiers being fouled but a tie up being called instead.     Wait a minute.    What does that remind me of?

PC was up by 17 with 6 to go.  Wow.

tower912

Evens up with Harrison getting mugged on a 3 pt attempt but not getting the call.

I disagree with you tower and the announcers. These no-calls have been pretty fair on both sides of the court. Nice and consistent, letting the guys play.

That was all ball as I saw it (I don't have a DVR though). And a lot of whining plus an intentional foul on Harrison because he threw a fit after not getting the call.

tower912

Providence making free throws down the stretch to hold off SJU.

No St. Johns.  No NOVA.  Equals alot of empty seats this weekend.

If the refs allow this type of physicality the rest of the tourney I like our chances.  However, I am sure as soon as Dougie steps on the court nobody will be allowed to breath his air.

If we can get by Xavier and Creighton, we're going to have the confidence to steam roll Providence or Seton Hall.

On the three? No chance. Defender was vertical, got ball, and any contact was initiated by Harrison jumping into him. Ref got it right.

Cotton got hacked on a floater a couple trips before that with no call.

I don't know about that. One would think that Hall and Providence fans might be rather pumped-up.

I don't think so. Seton Hall fans will come in droves on Friday night.

The question is will Raftery be able to maintain his objectivity during the telecast?

Hope so, cause SH fans don't even go to their regular season games.  Be rooting for the Hall, they have a great recruiting class coming in and good for the BE.

There really aren't that many Hall fans floating around. Hall has little traction here in Jersey.

Who cares about attendance, lets just hope Marquette wins three games.  We could play in middle school gymnasium in front of 10 students and I would not care at all.
