Its not that I necessarily disagree with Ners. Its that he never stops posting about it. We get it. We know your opinion. What else is there to say on the matter? What are you hoping to achieve?

Ners, if you kept all of your thoughts on the D Wilson/Dawson issue in one thread, I'd honestly be fine with it. Its that you keep posting new threads on the exact same issue literally every day. Give it a rest, on behalf of Scoop, I beg you. Get outside. Go for a jog.

Fair enough Bleuteaux...I get your point...what would have worked best is if Derrick through his play gave me a big sh$t burger to eat...instead his play got to a season low the last 5 games, further underscoring the problem...but..the good news....it will soon be the offseason and we won't have game performance to debate/dissect...

Anybody else find it interesting that 7 players on the All Big East teams were guards?
Makes me think that this is a guards game. Had Mayo seen more court time I think he would have been mentioned.

He shouldn't shut the hell up. Nobody needs to open a single one of Ners' posts if that's the choice.

Ners is free to post 935 times about this subject if he wants to.

Oh wait, there's 936.

937.

938.

Can't ... keep ... count ...

Why should he "shut the hell up?"  The D. Wilson PG situation will have a huge impact on next season.  You cannot have a successful team with that limited a player at that position.

Stats can be used to prove almost any point, but just watching the game, his deficiencies cause so many problems.  And with so much scoring about to leave, the team cannot afford to have him in the game for major minutes.
Hards is trying to compete with the Sultan in lobbying with the Mods to be the "Thought Police". Some posters idea is that everybody clocks into the De. Wilson/Buzz love train and all will be bliss--in spite of the fact that the train is 17-14. Their answer is wait till next year, even though the major problem with the team is that train crashed early on, and the salvage crew could not resurrect it. Wish we had different results--we didn't.

Hope Hards and Sultan stay on the Board, because they are MU fans. But to tell others to shut the hell up seems pretty dictatorial. Don't read the posts, Gentlemen.

Meanwhile, during the sabbaticals that some are taking--apparently because some people do not subscribe to the "All things Buzz/Derrick" philosophy, some of us are trying to think of ways for the team to do better next year.

One suggestion to improve next year: Turn the keys over to a new PG, as a famous Packer Coach said when asked about Favre returning to camp as a seasoned veteran wanting to play again, "That train has left the station." We have had 3 years of Derrick--we know what he is. That train should leave the station. Time to give the position to somebody else. And guess what, even though Rodgers got his ass clocked his first year of playing, it worked out pretty well, didn't it? Will Buzz step up to the plate, and see the light? Wating to see!

Da, Da Coach is the issue my friend. Derrick is good at what he does in the role he should be playing. Buzz has forced him into playing a role he is not suited. Unfortunately, no amount of statistics, logic or debate here will change the coaches mind.  Buzz is a very good coach but has some blind spots which will hold the team back this year and next.

Relax everybody.

Next year, Derrick WILL get beat out for the point guard spot.  There will be 3 excellent players contesting it... Mayo (my favorite), Dawson, and Duane.

Derrick will be used as a defensive sub and will impress us with what he can do when relieved of full time PG responsibility.  He'll still get 20+ mins per game, but they will be decisive minutes.

Seriously... I keep asking myself how will next year's team be better than this years team... and at PG, I believe we'll be LOTS better.

Maybe Mayo can do everything else Buzz needs him to do to earn more playing time before next season.

What do most players credit with making them better?
1.  Playing time as a freshman
2.  Working extremely hard during the off season (weights, practice shooting, etc.)The most valuable off season is AFTER their freshmen year and I agree off season weights and shooting is extremely important.

Name one player who matches your profile.

Name one coach who has said I really made XYZ player into a superstar because I played him as a freshman.
Name one coach who doesn't blame a "lack of experience" or "youth" or "we are young" as a reason they aren't having a good season.  Also, coaches use "coach speak," they don't want to dismiss the value of practice, ever.

Take any level of basketball and those people who put in more time off the court saw more time on it and they were better players.  agree completely

You are confusing freshman who have proven they are the better players in practice and therefore get playing time with playing time made them better.I am not confusing anything.  You cannot replicate the in-game experience at practice.  You develop fundamentals, strategy and team chemistry in practice.  The more talented a freshmen is, the more game experience they need.  Especially when the upperclassman ahead of them are not good enough to help you win
