The Sultan of Silly

They are paying us $5MM+/- each to cover our conference and had MU as the crown jewel of the group.  A team with three consecutive Sweet 16's, a national following, that has wild uniforms, a reliable NBA pipeline, played (used to be plays) an uber athletic uptempo style of team speed basketball and led by a budding quirky genius coach that the masses might love like Al McGuire (Al is still a national basketball legend 30+ years later and his name will always be synonymous with MU bball).

However there is a fine line between quirky and goofy and Buzz, this year any ways, has become inexplicably goofy at the most delicate of times as we move to a watered down conference where we needed to make a collective splash as a conference to keep the perception that the old Big East "party" is still going strong and will so for years to come.

Instead he embarrasses Fox when they move the OSU game to the national network on an ideal Saturday afternoon time-slot after promoting it during every Fox NFL football game for weeks and we score 35 points playing our "C" team players.  However this game was not an aberration and did it all year long to the dismay of those who had a clue and now we are out of the NCAA tournament and the annuity revenues that the team shares pay to the conference members in spite of being ranked 17th pre-season and a top 10 recruiting class and multiple contributors returning from the previous Sweet 16 teams.

He doesn't have a boss as Larry Williams left so there is no "Billy Bean" to challenge him on his choice of line-ups and the importance of developing the young star prospects as they are the future present value of the program as recruiting is the lifeblood of any program.

Let's hope they exert their considerable influence on him to turn it around next year otherwise with Derrick and Juan still having eligibility I see them still getting 20 to 30+ minutes again next year and don't think we'll have an improved JJJ and others around to help us get back to playing Buzz Williams MU basketball that we have grown accustomed to and expected.

Yes, FS1 is ticked at MU for having a down year.    Wow.    ::)    One sprinkle on their cupcake is out of place.    Delusional/narcissistic much?

The Lens

Why would they be mad at the 4th (at best) highest profile team in the Conf?

Somebody severely overvalues MU.

Sure hope they don't have us kicked out of the league.   ::)

I don't know if MU was the crown jewel, I'd wager G'Town was.  From a ratings perspective, we're probably 3rd or 4th historically.
