Are you giddy about that dispicable display after they scored their 1st TD???

Mark Richt ought to be ashamed of himself, and he/the university should be fined signifcantly.

The Gators are my favorite college football team (and 2nd favorite hoops team) but that is beside the point...

Georgia is a joke, and their coach is a joke. Final score aside, the whole act was completely classless and the NCAA/SEC needs to come down hard on them.

I agree that it was a dumb move by Richt but calling Georgia and Richt a joke is just a dumb comment.  Let's not forget two weeks back when Georgia beat Vandy and Richt stormed on the field to tell his players to stop celebrating on the opponents home field.  Richt is one of the most respected and classy coaches in college football.  This is a big time rivalry game and it's played on a neutral site... if it was at the Swamp, you could say it was classless.  This is the stuff that builds the rivalry and it was a great win by Georgia.

Let's take a quick second and review Georgia vs. Florida history... did you think it was classy when Florida called a timeout in Athens to run up the score and break the 50 point barrier.  When they asked why he called a timeout, Spurrier responded that he wanted to be the first to score 50 on Georgia in Athens and he wanted to see how it felt.   Yeahh... real classy there.

I understand the rivalry, but I think this action is worse than running up the score. Running up the score happens in college football, oh well...

But sending your team out, threatening them with sprints if they DONT get a penalty, that is much worse than running up the score.

What if Florida's bench empties and hell breaks loose in the endzone like it did in last year's Miami/FIU game???

Just not a smart thing to do by Richt.

how is running up the score not worse than celebrating?

They were out their having fun... calling a time out to run up the score and bragging about it is 10x worse. Richt even said he didnt think it would be taken this far. Spurrier was just being a dick.

I was there this weekend.  If you ever get a chance, get down to Jacksonville for the Cocktial Party, unreal.

I talked to a ton of UGA fans after, they said it wasn't about showing up Florida but rather showing up, period.  They've come in to these games in the past as timid and scared regardless of ranking (Hell Zooker even beat 'em).  What they did there was simply say, UGA is in the House.  I was cheering for the Gator's but I have to say it was pretty amazing to watch.
My handle is Schoolyard but I do my best work at Finley Dunnes...Joe Kenny in '08
