This team just doesn't get it.  Typically Mayo is the only one who really brings it when we really need something.  Tonight he has made awful decisions twice at absolutely critical times in the game which then led directly to a wide open 3 in transition.  Once we could've cut it down to 2 or 3 and he takes a 0 pass 3 point attempt which leads to a long rebound and run out for a wide open 3 for Douglas and the other he gets a 1 on 1 fast break and gets stripped leading to a wide open 3 pointer while we're down 6 to go down 9.  Also, right after the first one he gets stripped trying to drive on 4 guys and it leads to a transition foul on Marquette.  And again, he's usually the only one who does get it.  That is not good.

Todd is the most exciting player on this team. And,you're right he gets it

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Completely agree. I think we get caught up in the moment and want to make the shot that gets the crowd on their feet and screaming. But passing methodically into an easy two is more effective.

Mayo only brings it on one end of the floor.]

Taking the defender one-on-one was absolutely the right play to make for Mayo, particularly given his skillset. The defender was off-balance and Todd had a full head of steam, the defender just made a great, clean play. That happens. 9 times out of 10, that's an easy 2 for MU and often a chance for a 3-point play. Hindsight is 20/20 but there should be no problem with Mayo taking it to the rim in that situation.
